David Ball

Managing Director

David Ball is a managing director in the Valuation Advisory Services practice, based in Atlanta. In addition, David leads the telecommunications industry group. He leverages more than 18 years of experience in valuation and financial advisory services. David has served various clients, including private companies, early-stage companies and S&P 500 public companies, across the technology, media, telecommunications, consumer products and industrial products industries.

Prior to joining Kroll, David worked as an engineer for Nortel Networks where he designed communications networks for telecom providers.

David has extensive experience in performing valuations of businesses and assets for financial reporting, tax reporting and M&A. He has also performed valuations for purchase price allocation (ASC Topic 805), impairment testing (ASC Topic 350), stock-based compensation (409A and ASC Topic 718), domestic and international tax planning and reorganizations, estate and gift tax, and litigation support purposes.  David has valued a wide variety of intangible assets and intellectual property, including proprietary technology, in-process research and development, customer relationships, trade names, franchise rights, Federal Communications Commission licenses, contractual relationships and assembled workforce.

David received an MBA and a B.S. in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a certified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is also a member of the CFA Institute and the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts.
