John has more than 35 years of experience providing corporate finance advice to shareholders, institutional fiduciaries and boards of directors. He is a nationally recognized expert on ESOP transactions and employee ownership strategies, transition options for private company shareholders and leveraged finance and private capital raising and he speaks frequently on these topics. He has broad industry expertise with a depth of experience in working with and advising healthcare, consumer products, manufacturing and distribution companies.
Currently, John serves as an independent outside director for two employee owned companies in the health services and health insurance sector and is also a director for an employee owned multinational heavy manufacturing and services company. In addition, John is the founder of D’Aubusson Advisors, a consulting firm which provides corporate finance advice to private company shareholders and corporate directors.
Prior to joining Kroll, John was a managing director and head of the New York office and National Private Placement practice at Valuemetrics, a national middle-market boutique corporate advisory firm acquired by Kroll in 2005. Prior to that, he spent 15 years as a vice president and department manager in Mid-Market Finance for National Westminster Bank USA (a predecessor of Bank of America).
John holds an MBA in finance from New York University, an MA in psychology from the University of Virginia, and a BA in psychology from Johns Hopkins University. He has FINRA Series 7, 79 and 63 licenses.
