Yoni has a decade of experience assessing and investigating complex high-stakes issues. He excels at translating byzantine topics into simple business language, providing strategic guidance, and preparing clients and experts to face opposing counsel or regulators. He has also managed significant vendor projects for clients with budgets exceeding $25 million.
Prior to joining Kroll, Yoni was an associate at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP, where he spent six years preparing experts and executives for examination at trial, deposition or by regulators; analyzing complex financial structures, instruments and agreements; and advising clients on time-pressured, novel and high-stakes situations and laws, including companies facing liquidation and executives facing imprisonment. Notably, Yoni managed a trial team in a bet-the-company structured finance case that settled in favor of his client for $1.84 billion. He also advised and represented financial entities throughout the capital stack on various matters, including their rights and litigation risks related to potential investments, loans, post-M&A obligations, structured instruments, SPACs, short seller attacks and crypto disputes. Additionally, Yoni represented executives under investigation or prosecution by the DOJ and SEC.
Prior to Patterson Belknap, Yoni clerked for two federal judges: Honorable Beverly B. Martin of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta and Honorable Kevin McNulty of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Before clerking, Yoni started his career as a litigation associate for Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York.
Yoni holds a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School. He also holds a B.S. in finance, summa cum laude, and a B.A. in philosophy, summa cum laude, from the University of Maryland. Yoni is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also a member of the New York bar.
